What happens after I make a booking through the form on your website?
We will check whether drone flight at the address is possible in principle, take a look at the weather forecast to see when drone flight will be possible in practice and then get back to you to confirm a date and time as soon as we can, usually within a couple of hours. For really urgent enquiries feel free to give us a call!
What if it's windy, rainy or foggy?
We'll take a look at the weather forecast and only arrange to attend the address when drone flight is looking possible. We can't fly in rain or strong wind, and photos taken in fog won't do the property justice. Sub-zero temperatures are not a problem. If we arrive on location but the weather doesn't allow take-off then we will wait as long as we can and arrange a new time to take your photos if the weather doesn't ease.
Do you liase with the property owner/tenant?
We are happy to handle communication with the person at the address you want photographing. It's generally easier if we have their contact details in case of any last-minute changes to timings on the day.
Does someone need to be at the property whilst you take photos?
Not neccesarily. It's helpful if somebody is there to move any vehicles from the driveway and help with staging the garden, as well as allowing access to the rear of the property when this is needed for the pilot to maintain a sightline to the drone. But if the property is left ready for photographing then nobody needs to be there. Unlike internal photography we don't need to enter the building (unless internal drone photos are required).
How long will it take?
We usually need to be at the property for between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the number of photos to be taken. We will deliver the processed photos to you no later than the same time the next working day. If you need the photos sooner, just let us know and we can make sure you get them in time!
Are you allowed to fly a drone near houses?
We typically use a <250g drone which is permitted to fly in the Open category, A1 subcategory, which includes flight over uninvolved people and within built-up areas. When required we can use larger drones flying in the A2 subcategory, though this does require a larger seperation from uninvolved people. Our pilots adhere to CAA regulations and hold all the required certification for the drone they are using and the flight category they are operating in.
Will the neighbours worry?
We will take care not to intrude on the privacy of neighbouring properties. Any personal information, such as numberplates, will be blurred before delivery, and we take care to avoid photographing people in our property photos. Our pilots will be readily identifiable whilst working and carry copies of their certification and our insurance policies.
Are you fully insured?
All our drone flights are covered under a £1 million Public Liability Insurance policy arranged through Coverdrone, as well as Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Will the photos or videos be high enough quality for me to use?
Our drones can take still images of up to 48MP in size and can film video in 4K resolution. We carefully process everything before delivering to you.
How will you deliver my aerial photos to me?
We can either send you a WeTransfer download link or a link to a Google Drive folder, depending on your preference. The photos will be available at that link for 30 days.
How do I pay you?
We accept payment by BACS after we invoice you, and we can also take card payments if prefered.
Can I use the photos for a property other than the one I originally contacted you about?
Our standard license only covers use of the photos to market the property they were specifically taken to advertise. Please contact us if you'd like to use generic views of the area for other purposes.
